Shannon Leigh Webb, 63, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at her home in Pontotoc, MS. She was born January 20, 1963, in Stuttgart, AR, in Arkansas County at Dr. McCracken Clinic. The oldest of five siblings, she was affectionately called Nanny. A loving nurturer, Shannon taught her siblings how to read. She grew up in rural Arkansas, working in the garden, spending time outdoors, playing in the yard, hauling wood, swimming in the rock crusher, and skiing at Greers Ferry Lake. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior as a young girl at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and was baptized in a local pond. A star basketball player, she graduated as Salutatorian from Mt. Vernon High School in 1981. By 1985, she had earned degrees from the University of Central Arkansas and the University of Arkansas Medical School in Dental Hygiene. Shannon had two children, Kristen and Sam Cooper. She married Joe Webb on September 13, 2008, and they were married for 18 years. Together, Joe and Shannon adopted their grandson, Kye, whom they had raised since birth.
Shannon is survived by her son, Kye Webb; her husband, Joe Webb; her daughter, Kristen Cooper of Jonesboro, AR; her sisters, Kim Wacker (Mike Vines) of Heber Springs, AR, Layna Leach of Little Rock, AR, and Julie Weatherly (Warren) of Jonesboro, AR; her brother, Brooks Leach (Lucie) of Greenbriar, AR; her nieces, Sydney Brown (Jacob) of Trussville, AL, and Alex Yates (Lucas) of Beebe, AR; her nephews, Jake Middlebrook (Perri) of Paragould, AR, Luke Weatherly of Jonesboro, AR, and Logan Leach of Little Rock, AR; her great-nieces, Aeslin Yates, Leia Brown, and Josie Middlebrook; her great-nephew, Fletcher Yates; her sister-in-law and extended in-law family, Jennifer Quarles (Randy) of Pontotoc, MS; nieces, Shelby Knight (Cooper) of Pontotoc, MS, and Hannah Bailey (Cory) of Pontotoc, MS; nephew, Austin Cook (Ashton) of Saltillo, MS; great-nieces, Lucy Knight and Hattie Cook; and a host of cousins and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her son, Sam Cooper; her parents, David Brooks and Glenda Fay Willhite Leach; and her grandparents, George and William “Billie” Willhite and Harrol and Ola Mae Leach.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 3:00 PM at West Heights Baptist Church, with Bro. David Hamilton officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:30 PM and continue until the service time. Burial will follow in West Heights Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brooks Leach, Jimmy King, Tommy Morton, Rick Baggett, Dane Dufford, and Bill Morgan.
