THE SHOALS – Fallen Sheffield Police Officer, Sgt. Nick Risner was escorted home this afternoon by hundreds of his Law Enforcement Brothers and Sisters. The solemn ride from Huntsville to Florence drew thousands of people, who lined the roads along the journey to show their respect. Sgt. Risner was wounded in a shootout as police were pursuing a suspect Thursday night in Muscle Shoals. He succumbed to his injuries Saturday morning.
