MUSCLE SHOALS – Service One Transport, headquartered in The Shoals, is sending a fleet of tractor-trailers to the disaster zone in the Carolinas with much needed emergency relief supplies. The trek into the Hurricane Florence impact region has not been an easy one, due to the high number of closed roads and nature-related dangers. In one example a Service One driver couldn’t return to pick up more supplies on the same road he use to get there due to rising flood waters. He had to expertly turn the rig around and find an alternate route back to the staging area where he could load more supplies to deliver them back to the people in need.

According to Service One’s President, Kelly Robinson, “We train our operational people in this type of work all year round, so they really know what they’re doing. they are very well qualified professionals… Every one of them! We are proud to have so many professional drivers here at the company.” Service One handles many types of disaster relief operations. Last year the company was instrumental in transporting relief supplies to Texas and South Florida. They’ve been working with FEDEX and UPS for the past 13 years on relief work such as that which is going on now in The Carolinas.
