transitioning into a busy fall season across the county, and there is
plenty on the horizon in and around Colbert County.
Now- September 12, 2026 – TVAA Member Art Exhibition, Tennessee Valley Museum of
Art, 511 W. Water St., Tuscumbia. The Tennessee Valley Museum of Art will host ArtWorks,
the annual Tennessee Valley Art Association member art exhibition. This large and diverse
exhibition showcases the extraordinary skill and creativity of artists across the Tennessee
Valley and surrounding regions. The exhibition will run through September 12 at 5:00 pm.

September 1, 2026 – Local Author Showcase: K. Moses Lee, Muscle Shoals Public
Library, 1918 Avalon Ave., Muscle Shoals. The Adult Reading Sign Up/Local Author
Showcase will take place on Tuesday, September 1st, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM,
featuring local Shoals resident and author K. Moses Lee. The event highlights Lee and his
newly released debut novel, Until You’ve Met Fredrick Garvey Dubois, which follows the

September 5-7, 2026 – Jeepin’ the Saloon, Seven Springs Lodge, 1292 Mt. Mills Rd.,

September 5, 2026 – Hawk Pride BOH Trip, Hawk Pride Mountain Offroad, 3874 Hawk
Pride Mountain Rd, Tuscumbia. Absolution Offroad will host the Hawk Pride BOH Trip on
Saturday, September 5, 2026, meeting at 9:00 AM outside the park office at Hawk Pride
Mountain, Offroad. The event focuses on tackling the “Uphill Both Ways” trail and requires

September 5, 2026 –3rd Annual Fayette Elite Bass Fishing Tournament, TVA Fleet
Harbor Boat Ramp, 79 N Wilson Dam Rd #1, Muscle Shoals. The 3rd Annual Fayette Elite
Bass Fishing Tournament Fundraiser will take place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from
safe light to 2:00 PM. The entry fee is $70 per boat, with a maximum of three anglers and no
more than two adults per team. An optional $10 Big Fish entry offers a 100% payout,
alongside cash prizes for 1st ($500), 2nd ($300), 3rd ($100), and Small Fish ($50).

September 7, 2026 – Coon Dog Labor Day Celebration, Coon Dog Cemetery, 4945
Coondog Cemetery Road, Tuscumbia. The Coon Dog Labor Day Celebration will take place
on Monday, September 7, 2026, at the Key Underwood Coon Dog Memorial Graveyard. Held
annually on Labor Day at the world’s only coonhound cemetery, this unique festival
features old-timey bluegrass music, buck dancing, a liar’s contest, and barbecue catered by
Bishop’s Barbecue.
September 11-12, 2026 – 23rd Annual Oka Kapassa – Return to Coldwater Festival,
Spring Park, 1 Spring Park Rd., Tuscumbia. The 23rd Oka Kapassa – Return to Coldwater
Festival will take place at Spring Park in Tuscumbia, Alabama, on Friday, September 11,
and Saturday, September 12, 2026. Celebrating the rich traditions, culture, and art of
Alabama’s First People, this free-admission festival begins on Friday evening with park
grounds opening at 5:00 p.m. for crafts and food, followed by music and storytelling at 6:00

September 19, 2026 – Village Workday, Village School, 200 Chickamauga St., Sheffield.
The Village School Foundation, in partnership with the Muscle Shoals National Heritage
Area, will host a community volunteer workday on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from
10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This event welcomes volunteers of all experience levels to assist with
cleaning, painting, scraping, yard work, organizing materials, and more. All necessary

September 19, 2026 – Trail of Tears, US Highway 72. This annual motorcycle ride pays
respectful tribute to the celebrated route once taken by the Cherokee Indians. Included in
this ride are American Indian pow-wows and various activities such as drumming and
