SCOTTSBORO-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident near Scottsboro that has taken the life of one person:
“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. Friday, September 8, has claimed the life of a Scottsboro man.
Ever Noe Vella-Fuentes, 41, was critically injured when the 2004 Honda Civic he was driving left the roadway, struck a ditch, and overturned.
Vella-Fuentes was not using a seat belt at the time of crash and was ejected. Vella-Fuentes was transported to Highlands Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The crash occurred on Alabama 79 near Dale Street, approximately 10 miles south of Scottsboro, in Jackson County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate. “
