Scottsboro Man Dies After Crashing Vehicle During Police Pursuit

SCOTTSBORO-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident that has taken the life of one person.  This accident resulted from the deceased fleeing law enforcement at the time of the accident:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:50 a.m. Sunday, April 30, has claimed the life of a Scottsboro man.

Luke F. Crockett, 33, was fatally injured when the 2007 Jeep Liberty that he was driving left the roadway and struck multiple trees. He was not using his seat belt at the time of crash, was ejected and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Crockett was attempting to elude a Scottsboro Police Officer at the time of crash, which occurred on Jackson County 21 near McClendon Drive, approximately 200 feet north of Scottsboro, in Jackson County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
