Scott Anthony Sheets, 57, passed away January 14, 2016 at his residence. He was born March 9, 1958 in Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Mr. Sheets was a member of the Central Church of Christ, Athens, Alabama.
Mr. Sheets graduated from Trumann High School (Arkansas) in 1976. He earned an Associate of Science degree at Calhoun Community College in Decatur, Alabama, and a Bachelor of Science degree at Athens State University.
Mr. Sheets is survived by his wife, Jan Johnson Sheets; daughter, Regan Brown and her husband, Chris of Benton, Arkansas; sister, Diane Costello of Copperas Cove, Texas; three grandchildren, Jordan, Harmony and Carter Brown of Benton, Arkansas; two step-children, Laura Lott of Montgomery and C.M. Lott of Birmingham; sister-in-law, Karleen Sheets of Trumann, Arkansas; father-in-law, Jim Johnson of Athens; mother-in-law, Betty Jenkins Johnson, of Athens; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Richard Sheets and Ygenia McDonald Sheets, of Trumann, Arkansas; his sister, Carol Britzke of Baraboo, Wisconsin; and his brother, Gregory Sheets of Trumann, Arkansas.
A private memorial service will be conducted at the Central Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Hospice of Limestone County or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
