Scott Anthony Bennett, aged 57, of Toney, passed away on Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, at UAB Hospital. Born on July 26th, 1968, in Huntsville, Alabama, Scott was the son of Raymond Earl Bennett and Barbara Walker Bennett.
Scott was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Athens, AL. He was active with The Haven (where he was affectionally known as Santa Claus), a mentoring program to help children needing help with homework, reading, math, and comprehension so that they can grow in confidence at school and their community. Over the years, Scott has dedicated his time to raising foster children and giving a loving, nurturing home to children with special needs.
Scott is lovingly remembered by his mother, Barbara Bennett and grandmother, JoAnn Lewis. He leaves behind his brothers, Rex Bennett and his wife Christie, and Chris Bennett and his wife Monica. Scott also held a special place in his heart for his foster son, Anthony Brown. He is further survived by his nephews Hayden, Hudson, and Blake Bennett, his niece Hannah Harris, and his aunts, Sandra Kendrick, Nellie Hopkins, and Sarah Quick, who all cherish his memory.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Bennett, and his grandparents, John and Sarah Bennett, and Clarence Walker. He is also preceded by niece, Brittany Whipple, and his uncles, Charles Walker, Junior Walker, and Jimmy Bennett, as well as his aunt, Sue McCollum.
Friends and family are invited to honor and celebrate Scott’s life at his visitation on Sunday, November 9th, 2025. The visitation will take place from 1:00 to 2:45 PM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM, with Justin Moore officiating the ceremony.
Scott Anthony Bennett will be dearly missed, and his memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
