GUNTERSVILLE-Tex Mex Cervechi, Sweet & Sour Turkey and Venison French Dip were just a few of the tasty dishes found at the Alabama Wildlife Federation Wild Game Cook-Off and Silent Auction last Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Civitan Park in Guntersville, Alabama! Close to 300 members and guests were in attendance as Schlitz Creek Competitive Eating & Cooking Team including Keith Jenkins, Chad Whittington, Larry Moore and Michael Moore captured the top prize of “Best Overall,” with their scrumptious Choctaw County Wild Hog Tacos w/ Pineapple Salsa. Schlitz Creek Competitive Eating & Cooking Team will be invited to the state finals held at Lanark in Millbrook in August 8, 2015 to compete for the title of AWF 2015 Wild Game Cook-Off State Champion.

While Schlitz Creek While Schlitz Creek Competitive Eating & Cooking Team won Best Overall, they certainly weren’t the only team serving up good food at the event. Other winners included:
Fish Division: First Place – Chonita’s Cookers including Severa McGrady, Mark McGrady and Maria Gutierrez cooking Tex Mex Cervechi; Second Place – Schlitz Creek Competitive Eating & Cooking Team including Keith Jenkins, Chad Whittington, Larry Moore and Michael Moore cooking Bayou LaBatre Shrimp Sauce Piquant; Third Place – Cajun Cook Team cooking Shrimp & Grit Cakes.
Fowl Division: First Place – Plus P’s including Scott Pellowski, Mark Pellowski, Brad Helton and Zac Plumstead cooking Sweet & Sour Turkey; Second Place – Schlitz Creek Competitive Eating & Cooking Team including Keith Jenkins, Chad Whittington, Larry Moore and Michael Moore cooking Jackson County & Wild Turkey Dumplings; Third Place – Chalk Branch cooking Asian Quail.
Game Division: First Place – Schlitz Creek Competitive Eating & Cooking Team including Keith Jenkins, Chad Whittington, Larry Moore and Michael Moore cooking Choctaw County Wild Hog Tacos w/Pineapple Salsa; Second Place – Plus P’s including Scott Pellowski, Mark Pellowski, Brad Helton and Zac Plumstead cooking Venison French Dip; Third Place – Chalk Branch cooking Hawaiian Deer Wraps.
Best Presentation Award went to Chonita’s Cookers and Presentation Runner-Up Award went to Spices Smokehouse.
