Sarah Minton Gilbertson, 93, of Huntsville, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 9, 2026. She was born in Tarboro, NC to Louie and Mildred Merritt Minton.
Sarah was a long-time active member of Faith Chapel and the “Sister Chicks” at church and enjoyed her monthly breakfasts with “The Foxy Ladies”, her women’s group from her Foxfire Drive neighborhood.
She loved spending time with her family and especially cooking for family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Gilbertson. Survivors include her daughter, Ginger Tannock (Dean); son, Gary Gilbertson (Sheila); grandsons, Matthew Klinzak and Jeremy Klinzak; granddaughter, Taylor Dinges; and great-granddaughter, Emma Dinges.
Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2026, at Faith Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Hank Mays officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
