Mrs. Sara Marie McCord SiskOn the evening of Wednesday, March 27, 2024, Sarah Marie McCord Sisk moved to her eternal home peacefully at the age of 88. Sara was born in 1935 to the late J.D. and Birdie McCord of Hollytree, Alabama.

She married the love of her life, Jimmy on July 14, 1953. Sara was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother who deeply loved her family. Sara was a perfect example of the virtuous woman. She made it her life’s work to take care of her husband and two sons as well as many others that came to eat at her table. She was always busy, demonstrating a hard work ethic all her life. More than anything she loved her family and friends…. “My boys, God love em” as she referred to Mike and Johnny, were the highlight of her life. Her children praise, and with great pride her husband says. There are many good women, but you are the best. Sara was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. She and Jimmy raised their children in a loving Christian home. She was a long-life resident of Paint Rock Valley and was loved by all that knew her. She was homebody and did not like to venture out past the railroad tracks. Her legacy lives on in the heart of those that knew and loved her. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith will forever inspire us. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her sons, Mike (Christine) Sisk, Johnny (Beverly) Sisk; grandchildren, Brandon (Lindsay) Sisk, Danielle (Jason) Potts, Brianne Sisk, Dylan Sisk, Jonathan (Alexis) Doss, Christopher (Laura) Doss, Victoria (Jake) Baugh; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Ken (Glenda) McCord; several nieces and nephews; one exceptional niece Kathy (Jesse) Morris.
