Funeral service for Sarah Frances Jones, 72, will be Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Etha Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jones died on Thursday, April 21, 2016. She was born March 9, 1944, in Cullman County to Dover Howell Veal and Willie Mae Stewart Veal. She was a healthcare worker for Cedar Springs Retirement Home.
Mrs. Jones was the mother of two daughters: Lynne Wallace and Tina Moyers both of Decatur, AL, with whom she loved with all her heart. She was the mother-in-law of two sons-in-law: Charles Wallace and Tony Moyers both of Decatur, AL, whom she loved and deeply respected.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years: Billy Joe Jones, whom she loved with all she had, and loved spending time with, while dancing and listening to country music at an old dance hall called “Dogwood Flats”. They enjoyed their lives together and now will continue to do that. God Bless them both.
Mrs. Jones was the grandmother to three grandsons: Bryan and Dillon Wallace and Desmond Peoples, and one granddaughter: Aubrey Peoples, all of Decatur, AL and two great grandsons: Jesse and Sam Wallace both of Hartselle.
She was of the Baptist religion and with all of her heart deeply believed in the power of God, love and country.
I’ve always heard that April showers bring May flowers, so when it sprinkles it’s God’s steps to heaven. Well…. it sprinkled and that was her walking to heaven.
Bryan Wallace, Dillon Wallace, Desmond Peoples, Steve Mote, Austin Veal, and Dave Ward will serve as pallbearers.
