Sarah Catherine Guthrie, age 92, passed on to her heavenly home on May 18, 2024 from her earthly home with her husband. She was born on Feb. 13, 1932, in Jasper, AL. She loved her Jesus, her family, and her church. With a servant’s heart, she always wanted to know if she could help you. She worked many years as Sunday School teacher and as food ministry organizer to bereaved church families.
Family who preceded her in death were her father and mother, Edward and Lucy Brown, her sisters, Maxine Redmill and Carol Robbins, her brothers-in-law, William Redmill, Paul Robbins, and Loal Guthrie.
Family who remain are her husband of 74 years, Charles W. Guthrie, her son, Timothy Guthrie, her daughter and son-in-law, Teressa and Garry Rowland, her grandchildren, Emily Kluesner (Adam) and Andy Rowland, her great-grandchildren, Jaxson Kluesner (Kaitlyn), Alexandra Kluesner, and Caelan Estes.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts in her memory be given to her church, Edgil Grove Baptist Church, 100 Edgil Grove Road, Jasper, AL 35503.
The family will receive friends at 11 A.M. at Edgil Grove Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 22. Funeral services will follow at noon. The burial will be at Edgil Grove Cemetery with Collins-Burke Funeral Home assisting. Hancel Cox and Scott Argent will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Adam Kluesner, Jaxson Kluesner, Keith Robbins, Chris Redmill, Andy Rowland, Glen Green, and Caelan Estes. We want to thank Southeast Hospice for their compassionate care.
