Sarah B. Windsor, 94, passed away from this life July 12, 2016. She was born April 16, 1922, to Stetson and Iris Hooper Boozer, of Albertville, Alabama. A private family service celebrating her beautiful life was held on Thursday, July 14, 2016.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Sheffield, Alabama.

Sarah is survived by her son, Tom Windsor and wife, Debbie; daughter, Jane Windsor Tidwell and husband, Donnie; grandchildren, Kelly Windsor Meckes and Todd, Katie Windsor Hagle and Casey, and Tommy Windsor and Emily; great-grandchildren, Lilly and Will Meckes and Windsor Grace, Sam, and Sarah Kate Hagle.

She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Barbara Windsor, of South Haven, Mississippi, Doris Alred, of Guntersville, Alabama, and Dot Walls, of Kimball, Tennessee; cousin, DeLeon Hooper, of Albertville, Alabama; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Howard “Duke” Windsor, of Sheffield, Alabama; parents, Stetson and Iris Hooper Boozer, of Albertville, Alabama; sister, Kathleen Davis and husband, Robert, of Albertville; brother-in-law, Jim Windsor, of South Haven, Mississippi; sister-in-law, Myra Smith, of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and cousin, Bernice Chaney, of Sheffield, Alabama.

The Windsor family extends a heartfelt thank you to Anna of Southern Care Hospice, nurses, Sandra, Jami, and Felecia, and caregiver Misty for their wonderful care during Mrs. Windsor’s last days at home. We also appreciate and are thankful for the medical care given to our mother by Dr. Jack McLendon and Dr. Bill Meckes through the years. Your friendship and kindness meant so much to her.

Sarah was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was adored and will be missed by all.

Morrison Funeral Homes assisted the family.
