Sara Stanford age 80 of Brilliant, AL passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024 at her residence.
Born January 31, 1944 in Guin, AL she is the Daughter of the late Luther and Ica Banks Knight and the Wife of the late Douglas Stanford. She had lived in Brilliant most of her life and had worked in the garment plants and had worked for Home Health. She was the Fan Club President for the group Mountain Breeze of Russellville, AL.
She is survived by 2 Daughters, Regina Simmons (Chad) of Winfield, AL and Melissa Hall (Anthony) of Guin, AL, A Son, Michael Stanford (Angela) of Guin, AL, 11 Grandchildren, and 11 Great Grandchildren, a Sister, Judy Weeks (Doug) of Beaverton, AL, a Sister In Law, Norma Knight of Hamilton, AL, and a Brother In Law, Frank Stanford of Winfield, AL, and a Host of Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Douglas Stanford, A Son, Timothy Stanford, 3 Sisters, Joyce Silas, Ann Bridgeman, and Mary Smith and 5 Brothers, Eugene, Henry, Leon, Leroy, and Jerry Knight.
Services held Sunday, March 3, 2024 at 2:00 pm from the Veal Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens in Gu-Win, AL. Bro. David Sullivan officiating.
