Sara Nell Pettus Logue, of Northport, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2016 at the age of 83. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Brother Clay Osburne officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Logue was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus and Ann Pettus; her first husband, Scott McClanahan; and her second husband, Ben Logue.
She is survived by her son, Mark McClanahan (Kristi) of Bankston; brother, Don Pettus (Pat) of Hartselle; grandchildren, Scott McClanahan (Gina) of Tuscaloosa, Emily Osburne (Clay) of Orlando, Florida; and great-grandchildren, Marcus, Larisey, Hazel and Eve McClanahan, and Shuler and Easton Osburne.
Mrs. Logue was born in Decatur where she attended and was named Valedictorian of Austinville High School. She worked at State National Bank as a PBX operator. She was very active in local and state PBX clubs, eventually becoming president of the International PBX Club. Sara started and ran McClanahan Pecans for many years in Decatur with her husband, Scott McClanahan. Sara was a dedicated grandmother, mother and wife, devoted to her family throughout her entire life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
