Sara Christine Franklin, 85, of New Market , Alabama  passed away November 4, 2024  at Donalson Care Center  Fayetteville , Tennessee . She was born on June 17, 1939  in Hazel Green Alabama.

Sara was known for her warm spirit and love for life. She never met a stranger and loved conversation with anyone who encountered her.  She loved to go anywhere at anytime. Sara retired from Motorola and spent many  years working at Griner’s deli. Above all, she valued her family and the time spent together which brought her enormous joy.

Sara  is survived by daughter Tina (Bobby) Tucker, grandchildren Mari (Gwen) Wilson, Darla (Steve) Bates, Lisa (Denny)Black, great grandchildren Ethan Bates, Caleb Bates, Gracie Wilson, Noah Wilson, Justin Black, Caleb Coffey and Amber Coffey, sisters Dora Owens and Anita (Greg) Edwards  and her caregiver Kathy Weber. Sara is survived also by many nieces and nephews as well as friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Helen Mooney, first husband Buck Yell, second husband Colie Franklin, siblings Billy Mooney, Cleona Maynard, Josephine Bennett, and Tony Mooney.

The family will receive friends at Hazel Green Funeral Home  on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 11:00 AM   –  1:00 PM.  Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday November 8  at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Interment will be at Miller Cemetery .

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to a Hospice facility.
