In loving memory of Sara Blanche Greenhaw, affectionately known as Blanche, who passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2024, in Guntersville, Alabama, at the age of 82. She was surrounded by her beloved family in her final moments.
Blanche was born on March 12, 1942, in Byron, Georgia, to the late Charlie and Annie McCarty. She lived a long and fulfilling life, marked by her faith and devotion to her family. A proud Christian, Blanche found joy in simple pleasures such as cooking, canning, freezing, sewing, listening to music, singing and dancing. Above all, she cherished spending time with her loved ones.
Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, William Otto Greenhaw; her infant children, baby boy Allred and baby girl Allred; and her brothers, Charles and Larry McCarty.
She is survived by her children: Tammy Mims (Johnny) of Elko, Georgia; Wesley Allred of Guntersville, Alabama; and Sandy McCulley (AJ) of Union Grove, Alabama. She also leaves behind her stepchildren: Kim Brown (Tom) of Arab, Alabama; and Kevin Greenhaw (Tracey) of Indian Harbour Beach, Florida. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Dustin Mims (Shyanne), Kasey Brock (Matt), Matthew Mims (Lindsey), Mitchell Allred, Johnny Allred (Sheridan), Jermey Allred, Braydon McCulley, Talon McCulley; step-grandchildren: Brittany Widner, Shaina Helton, Josh Brown, Elizabeth Greenhaw; great-grandchildren: MJ and Lucas Mims, Aiden Mims, Jeremiah, Bentley and Carson Allred, Athena Godfrey; as well as several step-great-grandchildren.
Blanche’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Private services in her home will be held to honor Blanche’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heartlite Hospice at 111 East Laurel Street, Scottsboro, AL 35768.
