Funeral services for Sandy Michelle Laney Miller, 50, of Hanceville will be 12:00 P.M. Thursday September 24th at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday September 23rd from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Hanceville Funeral Home.
Sandy Michelle Laney Miller was born on December 19, 1975, in Cullman, Alabama to parents, James and Patricia Laney of Hanceville, Alabama. She passed peacefully at her home in Hanceville, Alabama on September 20, 2026.
Sandy has lived in Hanceville her entire life. She graduated from Hanceville High School in 1994. After graduation she went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1998. She worked in the banking industry, and the trucking industry. Most recently she was employed with Powergrid, a job she loved. Her most important job, and the one she loved most of all was raising her three sons. She rocked at the boy mom role. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Sandy is survived by her devoted husband, Kerry Miller; sons, Dustin Baker, Austin Baker (Makayla), and Grayson Baker (Maddie); grandchildren, Laney Baker, Bennett Baker, Carter Baker, and Nash Laney; mother-in-law, Montes Miller; step children, Tiffany Hill, Stuart Miller (Whitleigh), and Natalie Taylor Carden; step grandchildren, Annsleigh Owen, Bennett Miller, and Rylee Hill; siblings, Jeremy Laney, and Tammy Laney West (Josh); brother-in-law, Kevin Miller (Leann); also her special life long friend and caretaker Gretchyn Parker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many loving friends.
Sandy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ellawayne Reynolds, Virgil Reynolds, Cecil Laney, and Mary Jo Butts.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dustin Baker, Austin Baker, Grayson Baker, Stuart Miller, Oneal Swann, Mike Kinkaid, Ryan Youmans, and Clay Wheaten.
