Sandy Carolyn Austin Bratton, age 42, of Sheffield, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 8, 2013. A memorial service to honor her life will be held Sunday, August 11, at 3:30 p.m., at York Terrace Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Daniel Dulaney will be officiating.
Sandy was a native of Sheffield, and a member of York Terrace Baptist church. She was a 1988 graduate of Sheffield High School, and attended UNA. Sandy received her PTA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She was preceded in death by father, Ted Austin, and step-sister, Darlene Sonnleitner Keller (Karl).
Survivors include children, Austin Bratton and Emma Bratton, of Sheffield; father of her children, Lee Bratton, of Sheffield; mother, Carolyn Austin Sonnleitner and step-father, Reid Sonnleitner, of Tuscumbia; mother-in-law, Diane Bratton; father-in-law, Ricky Bratton; grandfather-in-law, Andy Andrews, of Sheffield; brothers, Jon Austin, of Tuscumbia, and Jamie Greene (Heather), of Harvest; sister, Holly Harris (Craig), of Hamilton; step-sisters, Tracie Hampton, of Florence, and Amy Goodwin (Patrick), of River Ridge, LA; sister-in-law, Lori Dulaney (Daniel); nephews, Blake Harris and Sam Harris, of Hamilton, and Josh Austin, of Sheffield; niece, Elly Austin, of Sheffield, step-nephew, Andrew Goodman, of River Ridge, LA; step-niece, Sara Goodman DeJong (Rodney), of Monroe, LA; aunt, Gayle Mann, of Florence; uncle, Dwight Austin, of Florence; and special friend, Christian McCracken, of Russellville.
