Sandra Reeves Garcia, 80, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 31st, peacefully at her home. She was a loving and giving wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother.

Sandra was born in Collinsville, AL the oldest of 5. She moved to Huntsville in 1961 where she met her husband of 48 years, Ray. She loved being a mother and often said that raising her 3 children was the best phase of her life. Once her children were grown, she worked at Chrysler until brain cancer ended her career in 2004. Sandra defied odds and lived for 18 years after her diagnosis, allowing her to be a loving grandmother. She loved her family and will be dearly missed.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond P. Garcia, her beloved son, Jonathan Garcia, and parents, Richard and Gertrude Reeves. Survivors include her son, Raymond R. Garcia; daughter, Renee Garcia; granddaughter, Lucia Nuel; sisters, Sarah Howard (Wilt), Peggy Stanton (Bob), and Debra Black (Terry); brother, Richard Reeves (Wanda); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home.

In honor of Sandra’s love for flowers, the family is gladly accepting floral tributes.
