Sandra Jones Bunch died Wednesday, January 6, 2016 in Hospice of Marshall County Shepherd’s Cove surrounded by family. She was 68 years old.
She was born in Guntersville and graduated from Marshall County High School. She received her AA degree from Northeast State Junior College, her BS degree from Jacksonville State University, and did graduate work at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. In her career she taught school, worked as a substitute teacher, and worked in the Adult Degree Program at Millsaps College.
She and her husband Wayne loved to travel. They went on numerous road trips and international cruises. Over the course of these travels, she visited 38 countries and 48 states.
Her main joy was her children and grandchildren. She loved to attend their athletic events, cheer them on, and entertain them on the farm where she and her husband lived in Union Grove.
She and her husband have been members of Arab First United Methodist Church for more than 20 years.
She is survived by her husband of more than 51 years Wayne; a son, Bryan (Laura); a daughter, Lia (Mark); four grandchildren: Catherine, Madeline, Parker, and Jackson; two brothers: Calvin (Beth) and Tim (Teresa); and a sister Denise.
Her memorial service will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Arab First United Methodist Church, Reverend Steve West and Reverend Roy Bryant, officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 with a celebration of life service to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Marshall County.
