Sandra Gail Johnson Dunlap, age 69, of Antioch Road, Somerville passed away on January 24, 2014. She died after a 3- week treatment in ICU for complications stemming from an aneurysm repair in 2011 that left her paralyzed below the waist.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. As a newspaper editor, she produced many editions, but she always claimed that her best editions were her babies.
She was preceded in death by her father Howard Johnson and Ollie Helms Johnson.
She is survived by her husband David Lamar Dunlap, her 3 birth children Richard Pratt Bell III, Susan Elizabeth Dunlap and Howard Wakefield Dunlap. 2 Grandchildren Bradley David Bell and Kylee Pinkham and 1 Great Grandchild Quinn Maurice Lattari. Her 2 sisters Mrs. Julia Rolfe and Mrs. Dot Garner. Sandra is also survived by several daughters she unofficially adopted along the way including Lauren Ringgold McDearmond and Keri Dodson.
Her memorial service will be Monday January 27, 2014 at 3:00pm at Antioch Methodist Church with visitation from 2-3pm at the church with Kathryne Perkins officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
