Funeral for Sandra Cox, 67, of Decatur will be today, December 6, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Goodsprings.
Mrs. Cox, who died Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born October 28, 1946, in Marion County. She was a member of Chapel Baptist Church in Decatur and was retired from Decatur City Schools. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cox; and two brothers, Danny McCarley and Ricky McCarley.
Survivors include one daughter, Kim Powell and her husband, Tony, of Decatur; two sons, Jeremy Cox and Ken Chandler, both of Decatur; four grandchildren, Aaron Powell, Heather Chandler, Tiffany Cox and Becca Cox; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Michael McCarley of Hamilton; three sisters, Elizabeth Gunter of Detroit, Mich., Lorie Shepherd of North Little Rock, Ark., and Michelle Beasley of Gardendale; and nieces and nephews.
