Sandra Cooper Butler, 67, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 12, 2026. Born in Guntersville, Alabama and raised in New Hope, Alabama, Sandra lived a life full of unwavering love for those around her.

A devoted mother, wife, and friend, Sandra was known for her strength of character, homemade chocolate sauce, and love of water and palm trees. She was married to her husband, John “Jay” Butler for 45 years.

Sandra’s parents, Doris Cooper and Billy Cooper, and her sister, Kim McCorvey have predeceased her.

Sandra is survived by her husband, their children, JoAnna and John Butler, her sister, Vicki Horton, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at New Hope Funeral Home from 12p.m. to 2p.m. with the funeral following at 2p.m.

Interment will be in Hayden Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial donations in Sandra’s honor to Childhaven or Faulkner University.
