Samuel Paul Jobe, Jr., 75, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021 in Huntsville, Alabama. Sam was born April 26, 1946, in Memphis, Tennessee, where he grew up.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents Samuel Paul Jobe and Mary Loretta Crowe Jobe. He is survived by his sister; Mary Ann Jobe Hickman; niece, Lisa Hickman McQuinn; nephews, John Hickman, Christopher Hickman, and Paul Hickman; and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Sam worked for 32 years at the VA Medical Center, Memphis, Tennessee and retired as the Multimedia Director. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the United States Navy. Sam was a lifetime member of Sons of Confederate Veterans-Battle of Shiloh Camp #1454. Sam had a great love of photography and genealogy. He also raised and showed Shar Pei dogs winning many awards and ribbons. The breed is known for its deep wrinkles and was traditionally kept as a watchdog and property guardian. Sam was a member of the American Daylily Society. His flower gardens had many beautiful varieties.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. at Magnolia Trace in Huntsville, Alabama. Burial will be in the Jobe Family Cemetery in Yell, Tennessee.
