Samuel Edward “Sam” Pitts, 63, passed away suddenly Sunday, July 20, 2025, at his home. He was born March 21, 1962, to Dewey Edward and Edith Helen Langley Pitts. Sam was a master transmission builder who retired after more than 25 years of service from Quality Transmission in Tupelo. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed discussing the bible with others. He was currently in his fifth semester of theological studies, which he enjoyed immensely. Sam had an inquisitive and mechanical nature about him that made him succeed in making things work again. Although he never had children of his own, he loved all children, especially his nieces and nephews and their children.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Sammy Raper officiating. Private burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery near Nettleton.
