Samuel graduated from crane high school in Chicago il and later earned his degree in culinary arts. Samuel moved to Dayton Ohio where he met the love of his life Precious Harris Ashford, they later relocated to hanceville Alabama where he worked at Bradford recovery center and was also a faithful member of the first church of colony. He was also an outstanding member of AA.
Samuel was an outgoing and kind hearted person he would give you the shirt off his back. Samuel was proceeded in death by his mother Mary Jackson Ashford; his father Samuel Ashford, sr; his son Michael Johnson; 4 brothers Earl,Willie,Danny and Gregory; one sister, Beatrice; and his nephew Keith. Samuel leaves to cherish his wife Precious Harris Ashford; 4 daughters Angela Ashford of Chicago Il, Audrey Ashford of St. Paul Minnesota, Nakia Clark of Peoria Il, and Brittney Ashford of Minneapolis Minnesota, 2 sons, Danadious Hurd (Kim Hurd) of Joliet Il, and Samuel Johnson of Chicago Il; 2 stepsons Glenn Harris (Patricia Harris) and Michael Daniels; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
