Sammy Ray West, 66, of Jasper, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016, at his residence.

The family will receive friends Sunday, April 24, 2016, from noon until 2 p.m. at New Hope Holy Church of Christ in Nauvoo.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 24, 2016, at 2 p.m. at New Hope Holy Church of Christ, with burial at New Hope Holy Church of Christ Cemetery. Michael Jackson will officiate.

Sammy was the former owner of the Wal-Win Restaurant.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar West; mother, IV Williams West; son, Tommy Chadwick West; father-in-law, D. Joe Gambrell; and mother-in-law, Margaret H. Gambrell.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Gambrell West of Jasper; sons, Christopher Ray “Chris” West (Christy) and Sammy Craig West (Karla); sisters, Sharon Steadman, Charlene Benson, Gaily Blackwell and Doris McCauley; brother, Learon West; grandchildren, Dillan West, Chandler West and Sydney West; and mother-in-law, Euna Mae Gambrell.

Pallbearers will be Dillan West, Chandler West, Ricky Blackwell, Shane Blackwell, Greg Steadman and John Duncan.
