Sammy Joe Conard, age 77, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017. A memorial visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 4, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The celebration of life will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Andy Fogle officiating.
Sam was a native of Canton, North Carolina and was retired with Champion International as a foreman in Courtland.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Millard and Birtie Conard, and a sister, Diane Nichols.
Survivors are his wife, Margaret Conard; children, Stephanie Smith and Scott Conard (Carla); brothers, Johnny Conard, Forest Conard, Jackie Conard, and Bruce Conard; grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Sara, Mack, Kaitlyn, Mason, and Zoie; and great-granddaughter, Emma.
