Sammie Neal Kirchner, age 70 of Muscle Shoals, died Saturday, June 30, 2018. He was born November 14, 1947 in Colbert County to Lydia A. Kirchner and the late Clarence M. Kirchner.
Sammie retired from Ford Motor Company as an electrician after over 30 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. Sammie graduated from Muscle Shoals High School and was very proud to be part of the Class of 1966 and remained friends with many of his classmates. He was also a graduate of the University of North Alabama. Sammie was an avid car lover especially Mustangs and was an avid Alabama fan. He was a good son to his mother, a friend to his brothers and was deeply loved by his nieces and nephews.
His survivors include his mother, Lydia A. Kirchner; and brothers, Kenneth Don (Diane) and Tommy Ray (Wanda). Nieces, Misty Sager (Brian), Jeanie Kleiber (Jason), Skye Miller (Chris); and nephew, Colin Kirchner. In addition, many family members including his Uncle, Aunt, cousins, and friends. He also leaves behind his beloved pets, Bear and Goldie.
He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence M. Kirchner and his best friend, Shelby.
His visitation will be Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Chris Miller and Sonny Owens officiating. Burial will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Those who will serve as pallbearers will be Austin Sager, Parker Sager, Colin Kirchner, Jason Kleiber, Johnny Wisdom and Joe Davis.
