Sammie E. Nelson, 77, died Friday, December 7 at the Red Bay Hospital. She was born in Mississippi to Samuel and Mary Crumley Elrod. She worked at Lance Garment for 26 years and was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
A private graveside service was held at Halltown Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Al. will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are three children-Oscar Nelson (Mary Anne) and Tony Nelson all of Red Bay and Pam Blacklidge (Randy) of Athens; Seven grandchildren; Two great grandchildren; Two sisters-Eva Barnes and Earlene Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband-Oscar A.C. Nelson and an infant son-John Arthur Nelson.
Pallbearers will be Eric Nelson, Shawn Nelson, Randy Blacklidge and Justin Nelson.
