Sam Houson Mitchell, 74, former Auburn University, USC and University of Georgia football coach and founder of Mitchell Investment Group, died December 25, 2014.
Survivors include his wife, Lana Mitchell; sons, Mark (Michelle) Mitchell and Scott Mitchell; grandchildren, Victoria, Savannah, Samuel and Marianne Mitchell.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 29, 2014 at 12:30PM at Athens First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Oconee Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
