Sally Johnson Copeland peacefully passed away on October 1, 2023, in Madison, Alabama. She was born on August 24, 1935, in Mulberry, Tennessee, to Wilber Cecil Johnson, Sr. and Jessie Lee Holland Johnson. Sally was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Philip Alonzo Copeland. She attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Much of her career was spent in the medical field as a Lab Technician and later as a Medical Equipment Sales Representative. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church of Huntsville Alabama.

Sally had a fulfilling and adventurous life. She spent three years living abroad with her husband. They shared a love for art, antiques, and making new friends along their journey. Sally was a gracious host and enjoyed entertaining. She also spent her time playing cards, going to movies, traveling and mostly laughing with her best friends, that she considered family. She nurtured very special relationships with all her nieces and nephews over the years and their families. Grammy, as she was called, was extremely proud of and loved being around her grandson and her great grandchildren.

She is survived by her two children James David Troutman of Madison, Alabama and Terry Troutman Marsh of Ridgway, Colorado. Her grandson, David James Troutman and great grandchildren Cameron, Brodie and Emily Troutman all of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Eugene Holland Johnson and
Wilber Cecil Johnson Jr.
A private Celebration of Life is planned for the family to honor Sally’s memory.
