Ruthie Jane Skipworth, age 67, of Tuscumbia, Alabama, died Friday, December 8, 2017. The visitation will be Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from noon to 2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Victor Brackin will be officiating. Burial will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.
She was a native of Florence, a receptionist, and assistant manager at Key West Inn. She also worked as a substitute teacher for Cherokee Schools. She worked at Tri Cities Manufacturing and Electro Technology.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Jerry Wayne Skipworth; daughters, Serene Thorn, LaDonna Fountain-Hamm, and Jerri Quinn; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jacob and Andrew Thorn, Justin and Raymond Glaze, Luther Quinn, and Tommy Hamm. Honorary pallbearers will be “Skippy” Joseph Skipworth and Thomas Wadkins.
