Ruthie Dean Duvall Mauney

  Ruthie Dean Duvall Mauney, 89, resident of the Dry Creek community, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023, at Senatobia Health & Rehabilitation Center.  Services for Mrs. Mauney will be Friday, May 12, 2023 at 2 p.m. in the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home.  Bro. Marvin Robbins will officiate, and visitation will be from 12 p.m. until time of service.  Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery in the Dry Creek community.

Mrs. Mauney was born on June 20, 1933, in Arkansas, the daughter of the late William Arthur and Maggie Anna Lee Ferrell Duvall.  She was a graduate of the Wilson Public School System in Arkansas and married her sweetheart Arnold Kenneth Mauney on May 11, 1957. She was employed for 51 years at Alright Parking where she was a bookkeeper and later became the vice president of the company.

A true Christian, Mrs. Mauney was a faithful member of Concord Baptist Church and was well known for seeing the “good” in everyone she met.  She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed working in her flower beds.

Memories will continued to be shared by a son, Keith Mauney (Pam) of Olive Branch, a nephew, Barry Rinehart (Annette), two grandchildren, Kasey and Alex Mauney, a great niece, Nicole Rinehart and a great nephew Brad Rinehart.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Mauney was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Michael “Mike” Mauney, three sisters, Opal Reynolds, Pauline Hodges and Ruby Chapman and three brothers, Joe, William and Othel Duvall.
