Funeral services for Ruth Olivene Graves, 96, of Brushy Pond will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 11th at Ryan’s Creek Baptist Church in Bremen. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Tommy Graves and Rev. Grant Dykes will be officiating. Visitation for the public will be from 10:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Thursday at the church prior to the funeral service.
Mrs. Graves was born on August 30, 1926 in Cullman, Alabama to the late William Riley and Edna (Stricklin) Calvert. She passed away on May 7, 2023 at Cullman Regional Medical Center in Cullman, Alabama.
Survivors include her children, Elton Graves, Lendel (Sharon) Graves and Sheila Stricklin; grandchildren, Vickie (David) Clopton, Rita Kent, Chad (Barbie) Nichols, Belinda (David) Tyree, and Mickey (Valorie) Stricklin; great grandchildren, Tiffany, Nichole, Carmon, Brett, Lakyn, Katie, Colby, Caleb, Cade, Anna and Lane; great-great grandchildren, Carlie, Austin and Keegan; brothers, Avery Calvert and Joe Calvert; and a host of many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Graves was preceded in death by her husband, Olvin Graves; son-in-law, Lendon Stricklin; daughter-in-law, Carol Graves; and a grandson-in-law, Mac Kent.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Tucker, Mickey Stricklin, Chad Nichols, Colby Tyree, Caleb Tyree and Cade Tyree.
