Ruth Maxine Higginbottom Cooper

Ruth Maxine Higginbottom Cooper, 90, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Generations of Red Bay. She was born in Belmont, MS to Arthur Ervin Higginbottom and Ollie Jewel Reno Higginbottom. She had worked as a seamstress in a garment factory, a supervisor at Spark-a-thon Furniture, Inc., a caregiver and as a kitchen helper at the Senior Citizen Center. She enjoyed making floral arrangements and going to craft shows. She loved her dogs (fur babies) and going to yard sales and flea markets. She was a member of Cornerstone Church of God.

Services will be Wednesday, July 17, 4 p.m. at Cornerstone Church of God with Bro. Rick Bradley and Bro. Micah Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Belmont City Cemetery, Belmont, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by a son, Jackie Cooper (Diane); a daughter, Debbie Lindsey (Ken); grandchildren, Kerri Cooper, Ryan Cooper (Rebecca), Marisa Wingo (Isaac), Maria Davis (Jamie), Tracy Allen (Brian) and Craig Lindsey (Tabitha); twenty great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cooper, a granddaughter, Melanie McKinney; her parents; her brothers, Edward Higginbottom, Leon Higginbottom, Dexter Higginbottom and Lilburn Higginbottom

Pallbearers will be Isaac Wingo, Jamie Davis, Brock Raper, Tra Elliott, Isaiah Wingo, Asher Wingo, Tracy Elliott, Wyatt Davis, Isaac Sartin, Canaan Sartin and Trent Cooper Williams.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 17, 2-4 p.m. at Cornerstone Church of God.
