Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen Ann Craven Key, age 74 of Delta, will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Center West Baptist Church with Rev. John Roberts and Rev. David Holcombe officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Key passed on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at the Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Clay County, and graduated from Lineville High School, and lived in Clay and Randolph Counties most of her life. Ellen had worked at Sewell Manufacturing, Dawson Vision Center as a receptionist and also at the Delta General Store. In her spare time, Ellen enjoyed reading and working on crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of Center West Baptist Church and spending time there was very important to her.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ronnie Key of Delta, her daughter, Amy Vickers of Heflin, grandson, Logan Vickers of Heflin, and her brother Wayne Craven (Belinda) of Hamilton, Mississippi, and a host of nieces, nephews and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Barto Craven and Gladis Bolt Craven, 5 brothers, Ellis, Jim, Doc, Sherald, and CB Craven, three sisters, Willie Senciboy, Edna Character, and Betty Frames.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be on Tuesday July 16, 2024 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 530 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. She will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00.
