Ruth Irene Cooper – Obituary

Ruth Irene Cooper, 94, of Red Bay, Alabama, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at her residence. She was born in Red Bay, Alabama and worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation for 30 years. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp serving in World War II.

Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, Alabama, with Brother Neville Vanderburg officiating. Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery, Red Bay, Alabama. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama, will be in charge of arrangements.

Survivors are one niece, nephews, and great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Albert “Al” Cooper and Alice Idoner Ross “Rosie” Bonds Cooper, and her brothers and sisters, Oscar Floyd Cooper, Arlie Belton Cooper, Nevada Vastile Cooper, Albert Duran “Dutch” Cooper, Pearl Cooper, William Turner “Bill” Cooper, Flora Edith Cooper, Artie Evadell “Johnnie” Cooper, Berniece Inez Cooper, Raymond Lee Cooper, and Roy Elvin Cooper.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Weaver, Hack Massey, Bill Lindley, James Neal Thompson, Omar Thrasher, and James McCalpin.

Visitation will be today, 9-11 a.m., at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama.
