Ruth Fansler Heard, 84 of Somerville, the Union Hill Community of Morgan County, died Sunday July 17, 2016 at Diversicare of Big Springs in Huntsville, Alabama.
Mrs. Heard was born June 30, 1932 in San Fernando Valley, California to Albert Leon Fansler and Annice Lorraine McCall Fansler. She worked in restaurants as a cook. She was married to Carl Goodrich Heard for 37 years.
She attended Brindlee Mountain Baptist Church and West Point Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband: Carl Heard, sons and daughter-in-law: Robert “Bob” French, Arthur G. and Rita French, Carlos “Carley” Christian, Alphson “Al” Christian; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law: Dorothy F. Berg, Carol Lee and Ed Banville. She was preceded in death by her parents: Albert and Annice McCall, a brother Leon Albert Fansler, and a sister Alberta Fansler.
Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday July 20, 2016 at Union Grove Cemetery. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel and Brindlee Mountain Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City.
