Ruth Blenkinsopp McCright – Obituary

Ruth Blenkinsopp McCright died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, after a brief illness. Her graveside service will be Thursday, Oct. 8, 2012, 11 a.m., in Salem Cemetery, Little Rock, Ark. A local memorial service will be held at Park Place at a later date.

Mrs. McCright was born Oct. 29, 1924, in Pulaski County, Ark. to Merial Azone Blenkinsopp and Joseph W. Blenkinsopp Sr. Her parents, her husband, Barney McCright, and her brother, Richard Blenkinsopp, predeceased her.

She resided most of her life in Little Rock and was a highly respected representative of First National Bank of Little Rock. She moved to Sheffield in 1999 to be closer to her brother, Joseph”Bill” Blenkinsopp and sister-in-law, the late Iris Blenkinsopp. She faithfully attended First United Methodist Church in Sheffield and was a member of the Wesleyan Fellowship Sunday School class. She worked as a volunteer at the church for many years.

She is survived by her brother, Bill Blenkinsopp; sister-in-law, Betty Bolinsky, of Fla.; nieces, Teresa Patrick (Roy), Debbie Fritz, Lisa Martin; nephew, John Blenkinsopp (Priscilla); four great-nephews and nieces; and one great-great-nephew.

The family would like to thank Gleria McVay, Vera Thompson, Jane Gargis and Carol Malone for their faithful care and love to Ms. Ruthie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Faith in Action.

Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia is in charge of local arrangements.
