Rush T. Reid, 83, of Muscle Shoals, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 5, from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Nicky McCreary officiating. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery.
Rush was a native and lifelong resident of the Shoals and was a retired ironworker from Reynolds Metals and T.V.A. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Rush was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Reid; parents, Odell and Elizabeth Reid; brother, Robert Reid; and sisters, Ella Frances Holt, Faye Crabbe, and Jessie Mae Miller.
He is survived by his daughters, Amanda Reid McC
reary (Nicky) and Gina Reid (Jared Pond); brother, Dennis Reid; grandchildren, Kristi Connell (Trey) and Amber Strickland (Josh); great-grandchildren, Ella Grace, Levi, John Henry, and Jake; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers
The family expresses special thanks to Louise Cornelius for all her care and support.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
