DECATUR-Downtown Decatur is ready to paint the town green and celebrate the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day holiday early with fun and entertainment for everyone. Set for Saturday, March 12, 2022, Downtown Decatur’s Pub Crawl offers an afternoon and evening of dining in and exploring the historic downtown area. Sponsored by Valley Budweiser and the Downtown Decatur Merchant and Business Association, the Irish celebration will take place from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Downtown Decatur’s Pub Crawl welcomes attendees of all ages and everyone is encouraged to wear festive St. Patrick’s Day apparel. Civil Axe Throwing joins the festivities this year and will offer special events and festivalgoers can try their luck in the cabbage toss from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Alabama Center for the Arts.
Those participating in the pub crawl can pick up a free punch card beginning at 1:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. Due to the threat of inclement weather conditions, punch cards will be available for pick-up at Cross-Eyed Owl Brewing Company (instead of the Alabama Center for the Arts as previously announced). To qualify for the drawing, participants must visit eight of the 11 stops on the Pub Crawl list: The RailYard, The Brick Deli, Moe’s Original Bar B Que, Mellow Mushroom, Josie’s, Simp McGhee’s, BB Perrin’s Sports Grille, Cross-Eyed Owl Brewing Company, Bank Street Grill, Civil Axe Throwing and the Princess Theatre. Participants must return punch cards to the drawing box at Cross-Eyed Owl Brewing Company by 9:15 p.m. to be entered in the drawing for the merchants’ prize basket. The winner of the drawing will be announced live on Facebook at 9:30 p.m.
