Rufus D. Passwater, 87, of Huntsville, passed away Tuesday. Born in Milford, Delaware, Mr. Passwater served four years in the US Air Force. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a BS in electrical engineering. He spent his career working in both private industries and civil service.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary Alice Passwater; children, John D. Passwater (Shirley), Karen P. Etchison (Bob), Andrew R. Passwater (Rose Ann), and Daniel F. Passwater; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Van Pelt (Bob); and brothers, Donald Passwaters and William Passwaters (Judy).
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Saturday, July 6th, at St. Charles Anglican Church. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon at the church with Father Byron Purves and Father Mark Brown officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Charles Anglican Church or your favorite charity.
