Mrs. Ruby Nell (Tidwell) Phillips, 80, of Florence, passed away Tuesday November 20, 2012, at Glenwood Healthcare following an extended illness. Visitation will begin at 11am Friday November 23, at Greenview Memorial Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 12 Noon in Greenview Memorial Park with Kenneth Davis officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Phillips was born in Lauderdale County to the late Thomas Tidwell, sr., and Cecil Estelle Downing Tidwell and was a member of Wood Ave. Church of Christ. She was retired from Triangle Wire and Cable.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Thomas Arnold Phillips and a brother, Del Clifton Tidwell, USMC Ret. She is survived by her sons, Stephen Ray Phillips (Sarah), Bill Phillips (Stella), Lance Phillips (Melanie) and Doug Phillips (Sharon); daughter, Charlotte Ann Putman; brother, Tom Tidwell, Jr. (Jean) of Florence; sisters, Beth Campbell (Harry), Cincinnati, OH and Nadine Creasy, of Florence; grandchildren, Stephen A. Phillips (Toni), Sherry Phillips Morrow, Chad Phillips (Sarah), Josh Phillips (Chiahua), Howard C. Phillips (Misty), Kerry Kent, Jason Putman (Jessica), Justin Putman (Leigh); great grandchildren, Jacob Morrow, Reagan Phillips, Gavin Lee Phillips, Dustin Phillips, Chad Phillips, Alissa and Braxton Putman, Kailee Green and Makayeleigh Best.
