Funeral for Ruby Martin “Boo Boo” Flowers Hill, 94, of Decatur will be Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Austinville Church of Christ with O.D. Bowling, Jason Obert and Mark Posey officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Garden Hill Cemetery in Opelika. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Hill died Thursday, June 27, 2013, at her home. She was born February 19, 1919, in Mount Hope to Arrie and E.K. Martin. Ruby enjoyed the jewelry business that she and Paul owned and operated in Opelika for many years. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends. At the time of her death, she was a member of Austinville Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul B. Flowers and Eugene Hill; and brothers, Dr. James S. Martin, Allen Martin, Theron Young, Lyndel Young, Rush Martin, Earl Martin, Van Edward Martin and Clyde Martin.
Survivors include sons by love, Gary Hill, Spencer Hill and Allen Hill; daughter, Paula F. Tharpe, daughter by love, Karen Stroud; sister, Bettey Martin; grandchildren, Paul Thomley, Marty Thomley, Amanda Cumming, Todd Hill, Missy Gann, Julie Cox, Colin Stroud, Dara Thomas, Emily Stroud, Tess Hill, Zach Hill, Erin, Devin Hill and Forrest Hill; and great-grandchildren, Isaac Cummings, Easton Cummings and Dara Grace Cummings.
Pallbearers will be Harold Martin, Gary Hill, Colin Stroud, Nick Holland and Dick Mitchell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Martin and Edward Martin.
Memorials may be made to Landersville Church of Christ.
