Ruby Mae Anderson Petcher passed away peacefully on March 21st at the age of 96. Born on February 19th, 1929, in a log cabin in Cullman County, Ruby was the oldest of ten children. Growing up in an era of no electricity or running water, she knew the value of hard work on the farm and strong family relationships. She always treated others with respect, loving God with all her heart, and loving her neighbor as herself. Jesus told us, “Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” We can take solace knowing that she exemplified this verse.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Petcher; her parents, Elmer and Eunice Anderson; five of her seven brothers, James, Voyt, Lamon, Lowell, and Larry Anderson; and her two sisters, Faye Shelton and Sharon Tucker. Survivors include her two brothers, Dan and Donald Anderson; her sons, Rick Burnett and Randy Petcher (Dee); and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, 1413 McClung Ave., Huntsville, Alabama, with the funeral service following at 11. Burial will follow at Huntsville Memory Gardens
