Ruby Juanita Moomaw Glover, 95, Florence, has always had her wings and finally flew to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. She was born on June 12, 1929 to Andrew Jackson Moomaw and Cecil Jane Dodd in Florence, Alabama. Ruby graduated from Central High School and obtained her cosmetology license. She retired as an office associate for Kmart Corporation. She was so loved by her husband Buck and she raised her only daughter with selfless love. Ruby loved her family and was always there for them throughout her lifetime. Her family loved her and she will be forever missed till we see her again.
Ruby is survived by her daughter Sheila Atencio and her favorite son in law, Rae, who she loved like a son, both of Florence; grandchildren Eric and Paige Atencio, Florence; Ashley and Scott Bridges, Madison; great-grandchildren Cora and Rhett Atencio; Eliza and Mabel Bridges; her sister, Lucy Roberson; her brother, Gene Moomaw, wife Glenda, cousin Nola Wesson, and loved nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy ‘Buck’ Glover, her parents, sister Ruth Horton, lifelong friend and sister-in-law, Thelma Wright, niece, Brenda Daniel, nephews, Philip, Gary, Don Horton.
There will be a private family burial at Greenview Memorial Park.
The family would like to express their deepest thanks and appreciation to Dr. Lyman Mitchell, CRNP Pam Hill, CenterWell Home Health, Dr Amber Olsen and SouthernCare New Beacon, especially Kristi and Misty.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Chisholm Hills Church of Christ Mission Fund where she was a member or Mars Hill Bible School.
