Ruby Jewell Pylant Johnson, age 90, of Trinity, Alabama, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
She was born on December 2, 1934, in Alabama, to Andrew Pylant and Mamie Frances Pylant.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Johnson; her children, Kenneth Johnson, Rose Wydner, and Rita Johnson; grandchildren, Autumn Wydner, Jody Wydner; great grandchild Garett Johnson; her brothers, David Pylant and Charles Pylant; and her sisters, Beulah Williams and Lucille Hardin, Lorene Lyle.
She is survived by her son, Perry Johnson; grandchildren, Matt Johnson (Amanda) and David Wydner (Wendy); six great-grandchildren; one great- great grandchild and her sister, Ann Hill Harrison.
Ruby was a faithful member of Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Trinity, Alabama. She had a lifelong love of sewing and was known for her kind spirit and devotion to her family.
Pallbearers will be David Hembree, Gary Allison, Kevin Proctor, Wayne Staggs, Dustin Simmons, Doug Queen, Glen Sandlin, Tim Burton, and Peyton Gibbons.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Charles Fisher and Pastor Anthony Simmons officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Decatur City Cemetery.
